THE CHIMES

MISSION: To provide relevant information about our faith and the religious events happening in our parish and our community. By advertising other parish events, we hope to connect the people of our Lima Catholic Community. The Chimes is published six times a year.

ACTIVITIES: You will work with a team of dedicated individuals to create the newspaper from start to finish on the software program: Quark. From coordinating a timeline for next issue’s due dates, contacting individuals for the “planning meetings” (six times a year), writing articles, collecting articles from the St. Charles staff, taking photos of parish/school events, proofi ng the rough drafts of articles and final copy of The Chimes before it goes to print, forwarding articles to the Catholic Chronicle, creating graphic designs for articles/advertisements, and errands: responsible for taking the fi nished copy and postage/labels to Eagle Print in Delphos. Offi ce and computer skills are an asset since most of your work will be done using a computer. We usually meet 3-4 weeks before an articles deadline. Typically the paper will be completed in about a week. The work assignments/times will be correlated to work with your schedule and responsibilities.
