Wireing several lights together in series.?
I want to be able to put 4.6 lights together for a snap turn everyone on. However, I can not simply run to a power strip or similar. If I take keyless 4.6 Can I run the serial cable and the string of lights together and then put a cap on the end? The lamps are instant messaging using 60 watts. Thanks
No. When you put lamps in series that share the stress and each receives only a fraction of it. If you put six in the series each get 1/6th of 120 volts and only a little shine. Want to put in parallel to each sees the full tension and is in full brightness. Put a cap on each cable of the lamp. Then get an extension cable zip (two parallel wires) of the required length with a triple connector on the end (a few dollars depending on length). Then get three of the little clip-on sockets that fit a plug (that open and close with snap arming both its internal pin cables - no cutting or removal of cables needed). Snap shots in what along the string. Now you have the cable with six parallel connectors to connect the lights on.
